Privacy policy

This policy explains what personal data Chartilizer (Pty) Ltd collects, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. We comply with South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) and, where applicable, the EU and UK GDPR.

1. Data we collect

We collect data you give us directly — your name, email, phone number, farm or company, hectares under management, primary crop, and the message of any enquiry — when you fill in a form, request a sample, or sign up for our newsletter.

We also collect anonymous analytics data: pages visited, time on page, country, and device type. We do not use this to identify you.

2. How we use it

To respond to your enquiry and follow up with relevant agronomic information;
To ship samples and process orders;
To send you our newsletter, but only if you opt in — and you can opt out at any time;
To improve the Site and the products we make.

3. Who we share it with

We share data with our agronomy partners only when you’ve asked us to (e.g. to arrange an on-farm visit). We use trusted suppliers — email delivery, analytics, payment processing — who are contractually bound to handle your data securely. We never sell your data.

4. How long we keep it

Enquiry data is kept for three years from your last contact with us. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe. Order data is kept for seven years to meet tax and regulatory obligations.

5. Your rights

Under POPIA and the GDPR, you have the right to:

Access the personal data we hold about you;
Correct anything that’s wrong;
Ask us to delete your data (“right to be forgotten”);
Object to direct marketing;
Lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) or your national data protection authority.

6. Cookies

We use a small number of essential cookies to keep the Site working, and (with your consent) analytics cookies to understand how it’s used. You can change your cookie preferences at any time from the banner on first visit.
